Time: Are You Making The Most Of It?

Time is without a doubt one of the most valuable assets we have. Once it's gone, it's gone forever, and you can’t make more of it. In business, where technology is increasing the pace of everything, the efficient use of time can actually be a competitive advantage.

If you are taking a holistic view of areas within your organization to save time - project management is one of the first places to look to see if you have a “time leak”. You might be thinking we don't do project management at our company. While a project might be formal, regimented and well-defined or just a list of things that need to get done, projects touch almost everyone’s work life in some way. And, the potential to spend time inefficiently is a risk.

With so many different ways to stay connected and consume information, it’s hard to know when you are being productive with your time and moving a project forward. In some regards the increase in connective technology has a paradoxical effect on efficiency. Email, cell phones, video conferencing, shared documents, online chatting tools, social media - can act as a net distraction from getting projects completed efficiently. And, even if your team uses a project management tool some are so cumbersome to manage and update that “the cure is worse than the disease”.

As the makers of TaskRay: Modern Project Management for Salesforce we know that saving time and spending time efficiently should be one of the central design tenets of a PM tool.  Which is why we built TaskRay to incorporate the best of all of the modern technology into an elegant, easy-to-use system that’s actually fun to use, and that saves you time.

We’ve put together a calculator to help you understand how much time you could be saving by using a modern project management system.  (And, since this whole blog post is about saving time the calculator should only take you a couple of minutes to fill out.)
