Fall 2016 Release: New Calendar View and Kanban Sorting Capabilities

It’s that time of the year again—time for us to announce the exciting new features that are coming to TaskRay! With the new year around the corner, we are focusing this release on productivity. The release will include the new Calendar View, functionality to create a task Agenda, dynamic task sorting options for the Kanban View, as well as file sorting capabilities. Combined with the existing TaskRay functionality, these new features will help you and your team kick off the new year to a good and productive start.

Calendar View

The new Calendar View will visualize task distribution and allow users to reschedule and adjust task durations using simple drag & drop actions. The new view will come with an Assistant, a feature designed to help keep track of all unscheduled tasks. Using the new Assistant, users will be able to quickly assign dates to tasks by dragging and dropping those tasks onto the Calendar.

Printable Agenda

Staying on track will be easier than ever with the new Agenda feature. The Agenda will organize tasks in chronological order, showing the items that need to be addressed each day of the week. Oh, and for the users who prefer to have something on paper, the Agenda is fully optimized for printing.

Kanban Sort Drag & Drop

We have two big enhancements coming to Kanban view. First, we are particularly excited to say that one of our most requested features, drag & drop by any sort selection, will be available with this release. This means moving tasks across columns will be available in any sort option, no longer limited to just Whiteboard Sort. Second, we now allow users to sort by custom fields as well, providing extra flexibility around how they manage their work.

File Sorting

Finding necessary files will be a breeze with the new file sorting functionality. The Files tab in TaskRay will provide three options for sorting files: date, name, and type.
