Be Present

The holidays are a busy time of year, and your customers are often balancing a lot at home and at work. While presents are a big part of the holiday season for many, one gift you can give your users is the gift of presence. Take time to check in with them, listen, and slow down. Nothing makes customers feel more valued than listening and responding to their needs.

Show Appreciation

There are many ways to show customer appreciation around the holidays. A simple ‘Thank you’ email with a small token of appreciation, such as a discount code, can go a long way in further investing in your relationship. Send a holiday greeting card to show your customers that you are more than a business. If you can swing it, hand-written signatures will add even more of a personal touch.

Promote Your Values

Another way to share your appreciation is to highlight stories and photos of your most inspiring customers. Social media is an easy way to spotlight customers and show them some love. Beyond just following customers and liking their posts, you can create a “Customer of the Week” campaign and spotlight your most engaged customers individually.

Acknowledge All Holidays

The world is rich with traditions, and the U.S. is one of the most religiously diverse nations in the world. Acknowledging the diversity of holidays and celebrations can go a long way towards including all your customers. This holiday season, remember to keep all relevant holidays into consideration. Use terminology that includes multiple traditions and take into consideration your customer’s beliefs when scheduling meetings, or sending out holiday-themed correspondence.

Wrap Up Details

Help ensure an easeful transition into the new year by offering to take care of the details for your customers. Preparing your customer for the following year is about understanding where they are in the customer success cycle and having a keen understanding of what they need to do in order to be successful in the future. See what you can do to take a few details off their plate and set them up for success moving into 2020.
